Why Pray for the Nations

“The Spirit of God is arresting our attention and focusing us upon His agenda which is the very heartbeat of God. He is a God who has definite strategies and works according to a fixed set of plans. Nothing, absolutely nothing is a happenstance with the Lord for He is a God of order. He has a plan concerning the nations. His agenda is far more serious than anything man can comprehend, for He always deals with eternal issues and the eternity of entire nations is at stake.”

God has a plan for the nations. When we pray for nations, we are agreeing with His heart for salvation, revival, justice, righteousness, spiritual awakening, and the advance of His Kingdom.

The nations are on God’s heart, and prayer helps align our hearts with His purposes.

How to Use These Prayer Requests

The following are general prayer requests for all nations. These can be incorporated into prayer meetings, houses of prayer, church prayer gatherings, worship and intercession times, or personal prayer.

In some of the houses of prayer I have been involved in, I printed these prayer requests and kept them in the prayer room. I taped prayer requests for the lost, the city, the nation, and the world on the walls for everyone to see. I also brought extra copies and left them on the table for others to take and use in prayer.

Have prayer fuel for the city and nations always available in the prayer room. Pray for the nations God lays on your heart individually and as a group. Mix intercession, worship, Scripture, and singing together — and always expect God to answer.

These prayer points can be used in:

Print these prayer points and place them in a prayer room, on a prayer table, or on the walls as ongoing prayer fuel for worship and intercession.

You can also divide them into prayer stations, assign one prayer point to each person, or use them during extended worship and prayer gatherings.
